Mom Fundraises for, “Cradle of Love Baby Home Orphanage” Tanzania Africa
“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” I have a dream. I want to go to Africa. I want to volunteer my heart…my voice…my arms to hold orphans and sing to them and snuggle them… I have a dream to visit and help my neice Bethany Gerber who is currently a Student Missionary at Cradle of Love Baby Home in Tanzania… My dream began a while ago, and got amazingly strong after listening to two sermons a few weeks ago at church by John Baxter who works with Frontier Missions.
I woke up the following Sunday morning with such a strong desire to go…to see the children for myself…to sing songs to them about Jesus…to sing lullabies…to sing whatever I can…to these precious Orphans.
After following Bethany’s Blog for the past few months (visit Bethany's blog at www.bethanyjoygerber.blogspot.com) the dream of visiting Tanzania and holding these children became stronger and stronger. I am willing to go. I am available to go. My heart is available to love. My voice is aching to sing. My arms are open to hold these babies…but I have limited funds to go. How does one fund raise for something like this? In the past when students or our children have desired to go on a Mission Trip…they have sent out request letters, and many have responded with donations…I am not sure how a Mother fund raises…So…I prayed and prayed about it. Soon after I was given an opportunity to sell Beautiful Calendars as a way to raise some funds. The collection of calendars is lovely. The retail price on the calendars is $16.99. I am asking for a donation of $8-10 per calendar. The price could be even better with a larger amount purchased. These calendars would make a nice gift for your neighbours and friends…or like for my parents…it is a perfect place to write down Doctor appointments!!
